    <description>&lt;P&gt;First off I print and mail in my returns (I know this the reason for my troubles, but too late now). I received a letter from the IRS requesting addtional info which resulted in me owing taxes instead of getting a refund &lt;span class="lia-unicode-emoji" title=":slightly_frowning_face:"&gt;🙁&lt;/span&gt;.&amp;nbsp; I just sent in my payment to the IRS now I'm wondering about my state return.&amp;nbsp; In turbotax (which I use to do my taxes... I'm not 100% old school!) I see that my refund for my state return (Oregon) would be about $200 than what I have already received... so what do I do?&amp;nbsp; Don't worry about it and let them contact me?&amp;nbsp; Will the IRS inform Oregon of the changes?&amp;nbsp; Will I go to jail? Thanks for the help!&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;The IRS will not contact your state concerning the changes to the federal tax return.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;You should file a state amended return if the changes made result in a change to your state tax refund.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;No, the IRS does not inform Oregon about changes to your federal return. &amp;nbsp;Federal and state returns are processed by completely separate entities. &amp;nbsp; If you need to change something on your state return you will need to send in an amended state return.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&lt;STRONG&gt;To amend only a state return:&lt;/STRONG&gt;&lt;/P&gt;
