Since you requested to have the TurboTax account fees deducted from your federal tax refund, the IRS will send the refund to a third party processor to have the fees and the service charge deducted. The third party processor will deduct the TurboTax fees plus the service charge and then attempt to direct deposit the remaining refund balance into the account that you entered on your tax return.

If the third party processor, Santa Barbara Tax Product Group, receives the refund back from the bank you selected then SBTPG sends you a check in the mail for the refund, less the returned funds fee.

I would guesstimate that it would be about 5 days after the refund was rejected by your bank for the check to be cut, posted and delivered.

I know it's been awhile since you posted this I was wondering where did you end up catching your check your cashier's check I don't have a bank account and the mobile apps wouldn't do it for me and Walmart gave me a hard time there is a wild fire crisis here in Ruidoso New Mexico and is zero point 6 miles away from my home the wind blew the fire towards a different direction. @Shorty971 This thread has had no activity for almost a year; you are unlikely to get a reply from one of the users who posted here. If your refund came in the form of a check, and you have no bank account or anywhere to cash it, we have heard that some folks are able to cash income tax refund checks at Walmart. Or.....open a bank account at an actual brick and mortar bank. That way you can deposit the check, let it clear and get access to your money. Going forward, you would have a place to interact with humans face to face to help with your financial issues.
