Why is e-filing 2022 amended returns closed?

When trying to e-file my Amended 2022 state and federal return I receive the following error: "We could not e-file your return for the following reason:
The Intuit Electronic Filing Center is closed for the 2022 Personal Income Tax filing season. November 15, 2023 was the last day to file returns electronically."

Although the window for initial filings may have closed, we should still be able to efile amendments.

TurboTax policy. Print and mail your return.

E-filing for amended returns is only available for the current year. Any prior year amendment will need to be paper filed.

Can I e-file my federal Form 1040-X amended return?

Thank you, although this was only posted yesterday - in previous years e-filing was eligible for the prior 3 years. Why the change of policy and when will Turbotax enable prior years as they have in the past?
