I bought your product on Amazon, 5 federal and one state included. Why did you charge me fees?

E-filing fee in desktop software

Did you purchase desktop software with state software included? They sell Deluxe both with and without state software--so you have to be careful which one you choose. And even if it does have the state software download included, that is for preparing the state. There is an extra fee to e-file the state. Before March 1 that fee is $20; after March 1 it increases to $25. You can avoid the state e-file fee if you print and mail the state instead of e-filing it.

How much fees? In the Desktop program you get 1 free state PROGRAM download to prepare unlimited state returns. Then each state including the first one is $20 (25 March 1) to efile or you can print and mail state for free.

Or did you accidentally end up in the Online web version? That can happen. Is there a black menu bar on the left side? That is the Online version. Did you pay for Online yet? I see people all the time that have bought the CD/Download Desktop Software but then somehow ending up using the Online version and didn't know it. If that happened to you, you can move your Online file to the Desktop program and continue without paying for Online or needing to reenter your info. We can tell you how to switch to your program.

I bought the Premier with State included. Just like I have for the 15 years. I downloaded it on machine, it is not the web based program.

The fee was $56 for my federal return, not my state.
