Be "earnings" are you referring to Social Security benefits you are receiving? Do you have a SSA1099?

Go to Federal> Wages & Income>>Retirement Plans and Social Security (SSA1099 and 1099RRB) to enter your SSA1099.

If your ONLY income is Social Security you are not required to file a tax return unless you have a 1095A for marketplace health insurance.

Yes, if you have a 1099-SSA, you need to enter it into TurboTax, because TurboTax has to do a calculation to see if part of your SS is taxable.

However, as xmasbaby notes, if all you have is Social Security (and not a side job or a 1099-R from a retirement plan distribution), it's unlikely that you will owe tax on it.
