If this was party of my turbo tax charges for filing I still shouldn't have been charged taxes.

What tax are you objecting to? Tax due that you have to pay to the state? That is separate from your federal refund. A state tax due cannot be paid from a federal refund. If you owe the state, you have to pay that yourself by April 15, 2024.

Or.....do you mean sales tax that was charged for using TurboTax? if your state has a state sales tax then you are subject to paying that sales tax for using TT. TT follows your state's tax laws, including its laws pertaining to which products or services are subject to state sales tax.
