&lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN style="font-size:14px;"&gt;To make a long story short, the EIC amount is computed by referencing the &lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;A href="https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/i1040tt.pdf" target="_blank"&gt;&lt;SPAN style="font-size:14px;"&gt;EIC Table&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/A&gt;&lt;SPAN style="font-size:14px;"&gt; and comparing:&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;UL&gt;
 &lt;LI&gt;&lt;SPAN style="font-size:14px;"&gt;The EIC amount based on earned income, and&amp;nbsp;&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/LI&gt;
 &lt;LI&gt;&lt;SPAN style="font-size:14px;"&gt;The EIC amount based on adjusted gross income (AGI).&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/LI&gt;
