Yes, you can enter a six digit IP PIN. Here's how to do that:

Sign in to your account and open your return.
Scroll down to Other Tax Situations, select the down arrow to the right.
Select Review/ Edit.
Select the down arrow to the right of Other Return Info
Select Start or Update to the right of Identity Protection PIN.
Answer the first question Yes.
Select Add to the right of your name.
Enter the number on the next screen.
At this point, you can continue your tax return.

The five digit PIN at the end of the return is a substitute for a pen and ink signature.

No, this is the Desk Top version. So, your instructions don't work the program needs to be fixed.

You're confusing two different things.

An Identity Protection PIN (IP PIN) is a 6-digit number the IRS provides to taxpayers who were victims of tax-related identity theft. See the TurboTax Help article What's an IP PIN? Do I need one? for more information.

You may be thinking of a five-digit self-select PIN, which can be used to sign your electronic return. You can reuse your Self-Select PIN from last year or create a new one to use. It doesn’t matter which option you choose. See the TurboTax Help article What is the difference between the five-digit Self-Select PIN I created last year and my Self-Select PIN this year? for more information.

There are separate spots in the TurboTax programming for each of these.

Follow these instructions to enter your IP PIN or to remove one that you accidentally entered.

Sign in to your TurboTax account
Open or continue to your return if you don't already have it open
In the search bar type IP pin (don't forget the space)
Select the Jump to link in the search results
On the Identity Protection PIN screen, answer Yes. Select Add and enter your IP PIN in the space provided
- If you need to remove the IP PIN, select the trash icon
Select Continue, then select Done

Wrong. There is a place with in the Turbo Tax screens that you must input the 6 digit IP-PIN if you've requested one. I called the INTUIT ech service and got the right place to put it.

If you have an IRS 6 digit PI PIN it must be enter on one of the Turbo Tax pages. And it's not very clear.
