How do I verify my id when it wont let me do it online without a form that was suppose to be sent by irs?

Yes, many people have to verify their ID prior to getting their tax refund.

If you are talking about your 2023 tax refund, you won't get accurate information about your refund until after January 29 because that is the date they start e-file processing.

If you are talking about an earlier year, the IRS may have mailed you a letter that you didn't receive for some reason. Find out what to do here.

Fanfare, I know we don't need an account to check the status of our refund. We are just trying to look up the status of our refund by entering the pertinent information. It states only that our identity needs to be validated with a paper form before a refund can be issued. And if we did not receive that form, we cannot verify our id’s online. But no further instructions as to how to do that were given.
