What identification are you referring to?

You must enter your name, address, Filing Status and your Social Security number on the tax return, or if you do not have a SS number then you enter the ITIN that was issued to you by the IRS.

To receive a tax refund it can be direct deposited into a bank account or you can receive the refund as a check mailed to you by the IRS to the address on your tax return.

If you are asking about entering a drivers license in order to e-file, you are not required to do that for your federal refund. But some states are really picky about it, so you might have to enter a state ID or tate drivers license to e-file a state return.
