Is there a way to get all tax paperwork if someone else used TurboTax to do your taxes for you?

I didn't do my taxes a family member did and I need to get tax information like a 1040. How do I get that if it was done through turbotax?

If they used the TurboTax online editions for the tax return you will need to get the User ID and password they used for the online account before you can access the tax return.

To access your current or prior year online tax returns sign onto the TurboTax website with the User ID you used to create the account - https://myturbotax.intuit.com/

If they used the desktop CD/Download editions installed on a computer, the only copy of your tax data file and any PDF's will be on the computer where the return was created. TurboTax does not store online any returns completed using the desktop editions.

If it was filed and you can't get a copy from Turbo Tax or your family,

You can request a transcript from the IRS

For a fee of $43 you can get a complete federal tax return from the IRS by completing Form 4506
