My brother's emailed informed him that my check was never cashed. Can this be resolved by sending me another check of the amount that was remaining from last year's taxes?

Tax refund checks do not come from TurboTax. Refunds come from the IRS or the state in which you filed an income tax return. If your brother helped you to prepare a tax return then he should be able to print out a copy of it for you so that you can see what it shows. If there is a refund on a Form 1040 it will be on line 35a. You can track your federal refund on the IRS refund site.

You need your filing status, your Social Security number and the exact amount (line 35a of your 2022 Form 1040) of your federal refund to track your Federal refund:

If, in fact, a check was mailed to you from the IRS and it was lost or damaged, you can request a trace and get the check re-sent:
