I have tried since 2022 to amend my 2021 tax return. I keep getting the following message from Turbo Tax.

THE AMENDED RETURN AREA WILL BE READY SOON

You've done a great job starting your taxes early, but the IRS is still working on finishing up the Amended Return area (Form 1040x) for 2021. That means this area isn't quite ready yet.

Check back soon and we'll help you finish up.

Let's keep working on other parts of your return.

Am I doing something wrong? Yes, I have tried "Other tax situations" and still get the same message.

To amend a 2021 tax return using the TurboTax desktop editions you must use the 2021 TurboTax software installed on a personal computer.

The 2021 amended tax return, Form 1040-X, has been available on the 2021 desktop editions for over a year.

Have you updated your 2021 software to the latest release?

Click on Online at the top of the screen and then click on Check for Updates.

Which version is shown on your 2021 desktop edition? Click on Help at the top of the screen. Click on About TurboTax. Click on the Version tab. The current version (Windows) is 021.000.0794
