      <description>&lt;P&gt;I purchased TurboTax for tax year 2022 and loaded it on to my PC using the CD. I purchased a new computer that does not have a CD drive and want to download TurboTax on to my new computer but got a message saying the license code is already associated with a different computer. Is there a way to download TurboTax on to my new computer? Or do I have to wait until tax year 2023 and buy TurboTax again?&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P class=""&gt;&lt;SPAN class=""&gt;Even though you can install it 5 times, it seems you can only use the CD 1 time unless you install it on another computer using the other operating system like Mac.&lt;SPAN class=""&gt;&amp;nbsp; &lt;/SPAN&gt;And if you installed from the CD it seems you can not download it from online.&lt;SPAN class=""&gt;&amp;nbsp; &lt;/SPAN&gt;You can't do both CD and download. &amp;nbsp; See the info on this FAQ&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P class=""&gt;&lt;SPAN class=""&gt;&lt;A href="https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/installing/help/i-bought-the-cd-but-my-computer-doesn-t-have-a-cd-drive/00/26450" target="_blank" rel="noopener"&gt;https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/installing/help/i-bought-the-cd-but-my-computer-doesn-t-have-a-cd-drive/00/26450&lt;/A&gt; &lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P class=""&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P class=""&gt;&lt;SPAN class=""&gt;Or try copying the CD to a usb flash drive.&lt;SPAN class=""&gt;&amp;nbsp; &lt;/SPAN&gt;See SteamTrains post here&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P class=""&gt;&lt;SPAN class=""&gt;&lt;A href="https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/taxes/discussion/why-can-t-i-install-turbotax-on-my-laptop-via-download-after-once-installing-on-pc-via-cd/00/2460054" target="_blank" rel="noopener"&gt;https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/taxes/discussion/why-can-t-i-install-turbotax-on-my-laptop-via-download-after-once-installing-on-pc-via-cd/00/2460054&lt;/A&gt; &lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P class=""&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P class=""&gt;&lt;SPAN class=""&gt;But do you need to install 2022 on the new computer? &amp;nbsp;&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;You only need the file ending in .tax2022 to transfer into 2023.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P class=""&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P class=""&gt;&lt;SPAN class=""&gt;Your tax files end in .tax or .tax2017, .tax2018 or .tax2019 or .tax2020 etc.&lt;SPAN class=""&gt;&amp;nbsp; &lt;/SPAN&gt;They should be in your Documents in a Turbo Tax folder.&lt;SPAN class=""&gt;&amp;nbsp; &lt;/SPAN&gt;You should also have the pdf files of each year.&lt;SPAN class=""&gt;&amp;nbsp; &lt;/SPAN&gt;Or search your computer for all files ending in .tax.&lt;SPAN class=""&gt;&amp;nbsp; &lt;/SPAN&gt;Also if you haven't done it,&lt;SPAN class=""&gt;&amp;nbsp; &lt;/SPAN&gt;I would open each year in the program and save it as a PDF file, go to File-Save to PDF so you don't need the program installed to view or print your return in the future like to get a mortgage or loan, etc.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P class=""&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P class=""&gt;&lt;SPAN class=""&gt;What I would do is just copy the whole Turbo Tax folder that is under your Documents.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;That should be where the .tax files and pdf files are stored.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;Copy that folder to a flash drive or best yet is to burn it to a CD or DVD and then you will have a backup of them.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;Then on the new computer copy the folder (or files) from the flash drive to your Documents folder.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;</description>
