Forms to Print for Amended Return

I received form 2439, however I filed by taxes, and had to file an amended return.

I completed the updates in Turbo Tax but the instructions were not clear on what documents to print for the IRS? It printed off all the forms and I don't want to send in unnecessary paperwork.

What do I need to send to the IRS? Please advise

Did you e-file your amended return or are you filing it by mail?

I did not see a place to file Electronically? Where is that out please?

what year? only an amended return for 2022 can be e-filed nad that should be available after going through the steps. make sure you check e-file and not mail. then you should get to the submit button and click on it, if mailing the 1040-X the 1040 (probably not needed but doesn't hurt) then every form and schedule that changed.

2022. The original was EFiled.

Do I just have to go thru the review and file process again for the 1040x?

Yes, as you should have the option at the end of filing the amended form.

However, how do I refile State Taxes (IL)?

The changes that you make to your federal return will automatically be transferred to your state return. Please see this Help Article for more information.

Please see the Help Article here for further assistance. IL amended returns cannot be e-filed and will need to be mailed in.
