Colorado delayed accepting tax returns due in part to numerous pending changes brought on by a busy 2022 legislative session and required system maintenance.

Last November Coloradans voted to lower the income tax rate to 4.4%, which coupled with multiple legislative changes created a much larger end-of-year programming workload for the Department, resulting in a slight delay.

The Department of Revenue planned to accept and queue individual income tax returns by no later than Feb. 10,

Check your refund status online at Check Refund Status.

Even when CO starts accepting returns it could be a week or more for them to accept all the returns that have been piled up so one must be patient while they play catch up.
