Does the IRS deposit money on holidays?

I spoke with the IRS they stated my refund is scheduled to be deposited into my account February 20th.. I’m confused as to why because last I knew , they don’t deposit money on holidays.. only mon-fri .. my bank is closed that day .. that’s making me wait even longer for my money ..

has anyone ever encountered a deposit sent on a holiday?

The IRS issues refunds every business day, Monday through Friday (except holidays).

And there is no guarantee that it will be posted by the bank on whatever day it does get issued...sometimes it takes a bank a few days to fully acknowledge the deposit.

Right.
So I don’t know why they told me the 20th.. that’s odd . First time hearing that because it’s most def Washington’s day on the 20th.

Correct.

chime literally just sent out an email stating that they will be closed on the following holidays (including February 20th) and that if we receive a deposit on a holiday , it won’t be sent until the next following business day.

so that would be the 21st.
