I filed my taxes January 10th I received a letter February 8th asking me to get on IRS website and verify my identity. This has never happened before.

I verified my identity successfully it said on the website. Will I get my taxes soon. Really could use them financially right now.

I HAVE TO VERIFY MY IDENTITY

Sometimes the IRS chooses returns randomly to request verification of identity and sometimes there is something on the return that triggers the request. No matter why the IRS has required you to verify your identity, you need to follow their instructions in order to receive your refund. If you do not verify your identity you will not get your refund.

Sorry to bear bad news----but your refund may be delayed. It takes extra time when you have to verify your identity. Your only source of information is the IRS. TurboTax will not get any updates.
