We do not have the exact timeframe that it takes for each individual state to accept returns. However, you can check out this Help Article for instructions on how to track your state refund.

If the IRS has accepted your e-filed return, you can check the status of your refund by going directly to https://www.irs.gov/refunds.

I had read in an earlier comment thread (Maryland Refund Status - still not processed listed by jesslh15)

that they called this morning and was told that Maryland did not actually start processing returns until Jan 25th and to call back at the end of the week if it still has not been processed.

So, I'm guessing while MD started accepting returns the 23rd they did not start processing them until the 25th and it usually takes 5-7 business days to process once processing begins. Hope this helped answer your question.
