Turbotax made the decision to close down e-filing for all years except the current year

TurboTax is available for e-file until October 17 when the IRS closes e-file for the 2021 tax year.

Well that does not make sense at all on Turbotax's behalf, especially seeing one can e-file amended returns for the several past years. And Turbotax allow to e-file amended State returns.

Edit: Turbotax clearly states in this support document e-filing is not available for prior years, as you mentioned, thanks again for your help.

A 2021 amended federal tax return cannot be e-filed using the TurboTax personal software.

It would be surprising if the NC state amended return for tax year 2021 can actually be e-filed using TurboTax after October 2022.
