If you can't get the side menus to open up to access the prior year..... You need to start entering some basic Personal Info in 2022 for the side menu to open up. Just continue a little ways into 2022.

If you used the Desktop CD/Download program then the only copy is on your computer and not saved or stored online. So you need to make and keep your own backups.

This is a really roundabout way to ask a question. I filed with TurboTax the past two years. It's January 2nd, and I have some questions about last year's returns, so I try to look them up. I don't seem to have saved a PDF - bad on me - locally, but there should be one in my intuit account. Sure enough, it says that there are documents from 2020 and 2021 tax years. Great, I click the link to see them, it spins for a while, then starts asking questions for the 2022 tax return. I don't want to start a 2022 tax return. I want to see my 2021 tax return.

So, how the frick do I do that?

To access your prior year online tax returns sign onto the TurboTax website with the User ID you used to create the account - https://myturbotax.intuit.com/

Start the 2022 online tax return by entering some personal information then click on Tax Home on the left side of the screen.

On the Tax Home webpage -

Scroll down to the section Your tax returns & documents. Click on the Year and Click on Download/print return (PDF)

I appreciate the (lightning!) fast reply, but neither your description of what to do, nor the explanation in the link, seem to work. They say to do what I initially tried, and it doesn't work. I got through the consent form for this year, and nothing.

However, after I got that far, and went back into another tab I have open for TurboTax, I found I was logged out there. Interesting. So I log back in, and once again it wants to start the new years' taxes, but this time it starts out with "let's keep working on your taxes". Scrolling down there, there is a link for last years forms that you can print or send to pdf.

So, your instructions were mostly right, but I needed to get to the consent form, log out, log back in again, and then there's the link to get my prior year's forms. I appreciate your help!
