Amend 2021 return but mailed original return

I did an extension for 2021 and filed taxes in Oct 21. However, I did it on Turbo Tax but did not efile through Turbo Tax. I printed and mailed it. Now I need to amend 2021 taxes and Turbo won't let me because it thinks I have not filed 2021 yet because I didn't efile it through Turbo tax. How do I do an amendment on Turbo tax if I did not efile the original return?

Did you use TurboTax to complete your 2021 tax return and then selecting mail the tax return in the File section of the TurboTax program so that the tax return was downloaded as a PDF and you printed the tax return for mailing?

A few words of caution. You say you mailed your 2021 return in October. It is taking the IRS six to nine months to process mailed returns. And now you want to send in an amended return before the IRS has processed your original return. It would be better to wait until your first return has been processed. Putting a second return into the system may cause confusion and longer delays in processing.

Thank you for you response. Nevermind. I remembered wrong. I efiled my 2021return in April 2022 so I am good now. I figured out how to amend from there. Thank you!
