I filled a return for 2020. I received my CA state return. Never got my Federal return. It's 701 minus my turbo tax fee leaves around 400 and some change. I talked to IRS who was very helpful and they showed me proof it was issued and sent. My bank also showed me proof I never received it. Last record of federal return received was back in 2021. Where my money turbo tax?

TurboTax does not receive any kind of tax refund, federal or state.

Once a tax return has been Accepted by the IRS or a State, TurboTax receives no further information concerning the tax return or the status of any tax refund.

If you requested to have the TurboTax account fees deducted from your federal tax refund, the IRS will send the refund to a third party processor to have the fees and the service charge deducted. The third party processor will deduct the TurboTax fees plus the service charge and then attempt to direct deposit the remaining refund balance into the account that you entered on your tax return.

For the status of your tax refund you will need to contact the third party processor, Santa Barbara Tax Product Group, using their website - https://www.sbtpg.com/

TurboTax gets NO information after you file your tax return. If you chose to have your TurboTax fees deducted from your federal refund, then your problem lies with the third party bank that handles refund processing, and you need to pursue it with them.

Your tax refund was not sent to TurboTax. TurboTax does not handle your refund at all.

Santa Barbara Tax Products Group, LLC (SBTPG) is the bank that handles the Refund Processing Service when you choose to have your TurboTax fees deducted from your refund. This option also has an additional charge from the bank that processes the transaction.

You mean you actually do have a record of receiving a Federal "refund" during 2021?? A federal refund, received during 2021, would normally be for a 2020 tax return......2020 taxes were filed in 2021.

.....or are you mis-typing what year(s) were involved ?
