I did my 2017 tax return from a disk and saved it my computer. My computer crashed and lost the data. So I had to rebuild my 2017 tax return from my paper copy. When I did the amendment, my original 2017 tax return information does not show on the amendment, on the amendment data.

To keep your original tax return data, you must save a file of the original tax return to your computer before you start the amended return. If you did not save a file, the original return was overwritten when you amended your return and no longer exists.
