How long ago did you amend? It can take up to a year to get a check for an amended return.

Even during “normal” times it takes about four months for the IRS to process an amended return. During the pandemic and due to the severe backlog at the IRS it is taking much longer—six to nine months or more for many amended returns. Do not expect quick results from amending. When the IRS issues a refund for an amended return it will be by check. They do not make direct deposits for refunds for amended returns. You can watch for information here:

It has been over a year and a half... and I had sent in three years of ammended returns. But I appreciate your response. Thank you.

@bromalle133 You sent three years of amended returns? Hope you used separate envelopes for each one, or they may have overlooked one or more of them. And...what tax years did you amend? You cannot get a refund for an amended return after three years.
