from the IRS website:

The IRS is opening mail within normal timeframes and all paper and electronic individual refund returns received prior to April 2021 have been processed if the return had no errors or did not require further review.

As of April 29, 2022, we had 9.6 million unprocessed individual returns which include returns received before 2022, and new tax year 2021 returns. Of these, 2.9 million returns require error correction or other special handling, and 6.7 million are paper returns waiting to be reviewed and processed.

https://www.irs.gov/newsroom/irs-operations-during-covid-19-mission-critical-functions-continue#collapseCollapsible1639064526818

It would not suprise me if it takes six months for the IRS to reduce the backlog on paper returns.

I had to print and mail my return and I did this mid February and other than mail tracking I have zero updates. No error letters and nothing on their website. I was wondering if other paper filers had started seeing movement yet. If I should attempt the call line Or if this is still new normal covid paper delays.
