I was supposed to receive 1996 but i only got back 500$ . On my account it says the refund was accepted by the irs SO IM CONFUSED ON HOW IM NOT RECEIVING THE REST BACK . THIS SITE IS A FRAUD ITS FALSE ADVERTISEMENT THEY TELL YOU YOURE GET THIS LARGE SUM AMOUNT BACK BUT YOURE ACTUALLY GETTING 1% OF THAT . I’ll never do my taxes here again because as a tax filing site don’t sice my head up thinking I’m getting this large sum amount of money back . Before y’all send the paper work to the irs you should actually check the filing if everything’s correct or tell me the actual refund amount . This is so dumb i hope y’all enjoy that 1,400 that’s mines . Smd

$1,400 is the amount of the 3rd Stimulus payment. Did you already get the Stimulus payment they sent out last year starting March 2021? The IRS has records that show you were sent the 3rd stimulus payment so they removed the $1,400 Recovery Rebate Credit.

Do you have 1,400 on 1040 line 30? You might have tried to claim it again. Line 30 is only if you didn't get the full amount or qualify for more.

Did you get IRS letter 6475 saying what they sent you? If you didn't get the IRS letter 6475 saying what they sent you then check your bank statements and check your IRS account to see when and what they sent you.

If the IRS thinks they sent it to you but you didn't get it request a trace for a missing third Stimulus payment

Turbo Tax is a self prepared return. It has no way of knowing or checking that you entered something wrong or in the wrong place or entered something twice Or left something out. It doesn't check against any outside sources. The IRS has copies of all the W2s and 1099s your employer and banks/brokers, etc. sent in to match against. Turbo Tax only checks the calculations of what you entered. It is your responsibility to check it over before you file.

Did you see these screens when you filled out your return? You had to answer this screen right. See Critter's screen shots

Turbo Tax can't look at your bank account for all of last year to see if you got the 1400 3rd Stimulus payment that was sent out last March 2021. You had to enter it.

The return was ACCEPTED FOR PROCESSING ... the refund amount was NOT accepted. During processing the IRS disagreed with your return and changed it. So follow the advice in the prior posts to see if you did indeed get the third stimulus in advance ? Check the IRS site.
