Did you use a mailing service like certified mail to track it so you would know it was received? If you did not do that, then it is possible that your envelope simply has not yet been opened. It takes the IRS quite awhile to open mailed returns and enter them into the system. When they finally open it they will enter it and you will be able to track your refund on the refund site.

TurboTax does not receive any updates from the IRS. Your ONLY source of information about your refund now is the IRS.

You need your filing status, your Social Security number and the exact amount (line 35a of your 2021 Form 1040) of your federal refund to track your Federal refund:

https://www.irs.gov/refunds

To track your state refund:

https://ttlc.intuit.com/questions/1899433-how-do-i-track-my-state-refund

https://ttlc.intuit.com/questions/1901548-why-do-some-refunds-take-longer-than-others

If you chose to have your TurboTax fees deducted from your federal refund, that will take some extra time, while the third party bank handles the refund processing.

sorry to say that it is not unheard of for mail to get lost. sometimes to show up 50 years later. most mail in the US is shipped via airplane, often on contracts with Fedex and/or UPS (ie, USPS pays Fedex to carry mail on their airplanes) many years ago one of those planes crashed. some mail was unrecoverable. when you send important documents you should use a method so you know it was delivered

Thanks for the obvious, I was expecting a professional response. Like what steps to take to resubmit without it becoming a duplicate and what irs form to use.

@emdixon1 Sorry----there are no steps you can take to keep a second copy of your tax return from being a duplicate, nor is there a special form to use. Unfortunately, given the conditions at the IRS these days, you have to wait patiently for them to open your envelope and begin to process your mailed return. Two months feels like a long time when you are waiting for your refund, but sadly, it is not a long time for the IRS now.

If you are wondering if you should send your return again——the IRS does not want you to file a second time. Putting two tax returns into the system at the same time can lead to confusion and even more delays. If you did not use tracking and do not know if the return was received—-you have to make your own judgment call and decide if you want to risk further delay by sending the return again.
