The IRS is severely backlogged this year and processing of tax returns is taking much longer than normal. You can check "<A href="https://www.irs.gov/refunds" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Where's My Refund?</A>" on the IRS web site about once a week to see if there is any change in the status.</P> <P><BR />You cannot contact the IRS by email.
