Did TT make a mistake ?

Did turboTax (TT) made a mistake ?
It transferred the amt on
line 37 of my 2020 return ( tax I owe)
to line 26 of my 2021 return (est payments}.
This caused me to get a larger refund than was correct. I am now working with the IRS on how to pay this back
Original 2021 return, refund = 2505
Corrected 2021 return refund should be = 1245.

Never heard of that. Did you maybe enter the tax you paid last year? Like if Turbo Tax asked if you paid any taxes? I think you had to enter that yourself. An estimated payment could only come from a prior year refund not a tax due. And even then you would have to manually enter it.

Do you intend to have part of your 2020 refund applied to 2021 estimated taxes?

I didn't get a 2020 refund, I owed taxes and it might be that I entered it by mistake. Oops !
