Federal and state refunds come from completely separate entities, There is no rule as to which one will come first or how much time there will be between their arrivals

Once your federal return has been accepted by the IRS, only the IRS has any control. TurboTax does not receive any updates from the IRS. Your ONLY source of information about your refund now is the IRS.

You need your filing status, your Social Security number and the exact amount (line 35a of your 2021 Form 1040) of your federal refund to track your Federal refund:

To track your state refund:

If you chose to have your TurboTax fees deducted from your federal refund, that will take some extra time, while the third party bank handles the refund processing.

I filed my tax return and it was accepted over a month ago. My state refund has come through but not the federal return. Is there any way to get information on why the federal refund is still processing?

I'm going to the same dilemma currently. I made a post with the same questions 😆 I've been waiting about five weeks tomorrow and I still have the same status when I check on the IRS we're told to call their number after 21 days but the number provides no assistance or actual help that can't we can get answers. I'm kind of irritated with people posting the same generic answer like above like we don't know how to look up our status and that we don't know if the IRS is the one responsible for our refund, this we know! what we're trying to figure out if anyone is going through the same thing and if they got any answers. thanks for posting!
