2021 Stimulus Check

Good morning.

During my Turbo Tax preparation, Turbo Tax made me aware that I was eligible for the last stimulus payment. I never received that in my refund payment... am I missing something?

It depends. It may have already been added to your refund amount. To verify, please follow the steps below:

Open or continue your return.
Select Tax Tools in the left menu.
With the Tax Tools menu open, you can then:
- Preview your entire return: Select Print Center and then Print, Save, or Preview This Year's Return (you may be asked to register or pay first).
- View only your 1040 form: Select Tools. Next, select View Tax Summary in the pop-up, then Preview my 1040 in the left menu. This option is free and you can Preview your return before you file.
- Look for Line 30 and verify if the stimulus payment already included or not

Additionally, please visit Preview Tax Return before E-Filing , for more information.

If you verified and Line 30 has no amounts, then please make sure you are entering the information correctly.

Follow the steps below to enter your information for the Stimulus Payments:

Sign into your account and continue from where you left off
Click on Federal in the left-hand column, then on Federal Review on the top of the screen
On the next page titled Let's double-check the amount you received; you will select No to receive the stimulus payment.

However, please make sure you enter this information correctly, or else there will be significant delays on your tax return.

I have already filed my 2021 taxes... why didn't Turbo Tax make me aware of this prior to filing. Why am I using Turbo Tax?

Please clarify your question. Are you unhappy because you didn't get the third stimulus at all, or because it was not included in this year's refund?

You should have received your third stimulus payment as a direct payment from the Treasury Department in early 2021. Treasury is sending out letters during this filing season to remind people of how much they received.

If you did not receive the third stimulus during 2021, you are able to claim the Recovery Rebate Credit on your 2021 tax return. TurboTax asks about the amount you received on every tax return. It comes up at the beginning of the Federal review.
