My return was supposed to be 6793. My state was 1342 which was correct when it hit my account. My federal was supposed to be 5451 but was 4051. Originally before I put in my child tax credit info and stimulus my refund amount was 9k. My federal refund came from TPG PRODUCTS SBTPG LLC not the IRS. What can I do to get my money that was taken from me. We work to hard to have money taken from us that we deserve. This is outrageous. I’m going to be contacting a lawyer. If anyone has any solution or ideas feel free to email me [email address removed]

@Aliciaw123 wrote:

No it was not

The reason this was asked is because the refund was exactly $1,400 less which is the exact amount of the 3rd stimulus payment.

Look at your Form 1040 Line 30. Is there a Recovery Rebate Credit of $1,400 entered?

If your refund is short $1,400 then the IRS has records that show you were sent the 3rd stimulus payment so they removed the $1,400 Recovery Rebate Credit.

If you checked your bank account in the March - May 2021 timeframe and there is not a $1,400 EIP3 payment from the IRS then go to this IRS website for how to start a trace on the payment - https://www.irs.gov/newsroom/questions-and-answers-about-the-third-economic-impact-payment-topic-j-p...

They told me TPG had their bank account numbers take $1368 of my refund, then my bank account numbers took 4138.11. The irs issued me $5506.11. The irs stated this is how I had my refund set up, which is insane. Id never in my life set up my account for Turbo tax to steal that much. They said I owed no debt I already paid it off.

They told me to file form for tax preparation fraud form 14157a

So I'm filling that out now.

I just learned my tax return supposed to be $ 3332.00 but the IRS changed my return to $1843 .16. I need to learn why they changed it.

The IRS does not notify TT when it makes an adjustment and/or offset, but it may be due to the stimulus (Recovery Rebate) or Child Tax Credit. Lots of taxpayers (not just TT customers) have been doing this wrong. You will be getting a letter in the mail from the IRS in 2-4 weeks.

IRS revises further Frequently Asked Questions and Answers for 2021 Recovery Rebate Credit | Internal Revenue Service

FS-2022-28, IRS updates Tax Year 2021/Filing Season 2022 Child Tax Credit Frequently Asked Questions, information to help taxpayers prepare their 2021 returns
