When should I expect IRS to approve?

Hey just filed my taxes through turbo tax for the first time in years, I filed 3/9/2022 and got Accepted 3/9/2022. Im confused because my returned is accepted but The IRS tool says “Return Received” . Now I’m waiting on it to mark off “Return Approved” , how long should I be expecting to wait for them to approve it? How long did your take ti approve? Thanks

According to the IRS, most refunds are issued within 21 days of your e-filed return being accepted & if you choose direct deposit. The 21 Days is not guaranteed, if there is a reason the IRS needs more information or is correcting the return it could be delayed.

Since your return was accepted, only the IRS knows when your return is going to be fully processed & when you will receive your refund. TurboTax does not get any updates on returns once they are accepted.

You can keep checking the IRS website, Where's My Refund, for the status of your return/refund. The website only updates once a day, checking more than that will not show any changes.
