So after I filled my taxes using Turbo Tax, It took more than 21 days once it got accepted to get my refund. And then when They finnaly posted something is to let me know that they took $4000 from my refund. The Excuses they give me dont even apply to my case. So I want therft over of my refund. And this company should be banned. @PresidentOfIntuit

TurboTax does not control the IRS. Once you file your tax return, only the IRS is in control. If the IRS reduced your refund, they will send a letter to explain why. The IRS does not tell TurboTax anything after you file your tax return. The IRS often posts a generic message at first when they reduce a refund. Later they will send you a letter that explains why your refund was reduced. The refund was reduced by the IRS--not by TurboTax. It is possible that you made a mistake of some kind that resulted in the reduction. We are seeing and hearing about lots of mistakes people are making on their 2021 returns--especially with the 3rd EIP payments.

When you get your letter if you think the IRS is wrong you can dispute it with the IRS.

Ive already try contacting the IRS and no one answers the phone because “Its a Holiday and they are close” . Im not going to stop until I get my full refund.

This happened to me. When I checked my 3rd EIP payment with IRS on their webpage, I saw half of what I was entitled to according to TT.

I entered the difference in TT and thought woo-hoo! I'm getting an extra chuck of $$$!

Come to find out I actually did get the full amount, I had to look back at the deposit in my bank account in March 2021. The check was made out to my wife and I. We had to both go into the bank to deposit it. Pain in the butt!

The IRS then split the EIP payment made between my wife and I. I only looked up my 3rd EIP payment and thought it was short..

Hope this makes sense and helps others..
