I am using a DVD/CD version of TurboTax for 2021 and preparing my own taxes. I filed and have received my refund, yet I need to amend the return. The return for the Federal was filed electronically, but the state return must be mailed. Instructions say "Do Not Mail", and later say to attach the Schedule X to the original return. Which do I do?

So have you or have you not filed your original state return, either electronically or by mail?

If your state is not supported for e-File of amendments, get the assembly instructions from your state tax booklet and mail it in at the Post Office.

You should wait until the "do not file" warning goes away.

If you e-Filed Federal 1040, you can e-File Federal 1040-X one time. Make sure your amendment is correct .
