Yes, if your W-2 is being corrected or they're sending you a second W-2, you will need to amend in order to add it. You should wait until the refund is received from the original filing, because although the amended return has to be filed on paper and mailed, it's not a good idea to have two returns with the same social security number in the IRS system.
