What does it mean if Refund tracker says We have received your refund and its being processed?

I received a email from Turbotax telling me on 1/24 my federal refund had been accepted, yet I keep seeing that same message "we have received your refund and its being processed" , how is it processing if it was already accepted 3 weeks ago according to turbotax?

The email from TurboTax is only to let you know whether your return is accepted or rejected. TurboTax receives no other information from the IRS.

What the IRS website is telling you is that they have accepted your return, which means your return passed the basic information to be accepted by the IRS. After that, the IRS will fully process your return. Once it is fully processed, the next thing you will see (if no errors on your return), Refund Approved & the date you should receive your refund.

I was accepted on the 27th at first i didnt see that message but now currently i am seeing that same message. A girlfriend of mines told me that she had that message and they needed further information from her and her taxes took longer . I just hope that isnt the case

I got that same message. Last year when I saw that message I got my refund a few days later. Last year I filed and was accepted on the 15th and had my refund DD on the 19th. No such luck this year!

Yeah mine says the same thing I filed mine on 25 January and with this being a holiday on Monday Presidents’ Day I’m wondering if we’re not gonna get them till next week now

My refund was received on January 26, 2021 and I still haven't received my taxes yet all the IRS system keep saying is it was received and being processed. This information started showing on the system 15th of February which to them was mid. Not sure what that means when it been 21 days..

Says refund processing is being delayed I hope there is nothing wrong with my refund because I was suppose to go on a trip this weekend and now my plans maybe canceled if I don't get my money

Have you all tried checking your transcripts?

I know alot of us on another thread have a ddd of 2/24 although WMR still says its being processed. Sometimes WMR is behind or only updates at certain times based on your cycle code on your transcript.

@Mariagigi8 You cannot re-e-file a return that is being processed by the IRS. If the IRS needs any more information to complete your return, you would receive a letter from the IRS explaining what they need.

Also, if your return includes the Earned Income Credit or the Additional Child Tax Credit, the IRS states that returns which include the Earned Income Credit & Additional Child Tax Credit, will not receive refunds until mid to late February. The IRS website Where's My Refund will not show refund information until they fully process your return. Once your return is fully processed & there are no errors, then the IRS Where's My Refund will show Refund Approved & the date you will receive it.
