topic Didn’t file 1099 SA in After you file

I filed my taxes back on January 8th, and it was sent to the IRS by January 18. I made about 14k and I was approved for the EITC. I’m getting about 2k, but I received my 1099 SA form just a week ago, and didn’t file it because I didn’t know I’d receive it. I withdrew 759 out of my HSA last year for the first time, and I intend to amend it but will I receive the funds still? The status changed from PATH act to we have received your return and it’s being processed as of yesterday. But I’m wondering will the refund be halted, rejected, etc because I forgot to file the 1099 SA, or will I still receive the funds then have to file when the form is ready later in march?

It's up to the IRS whether to release your refund or send you an inquiry about the missing info from your return and await a response before your refund is processed.

The money you put into your HSA is before taxes. The Form 1099-SA shows that you pulled money out and used it for approved costs. That means the money stays out of the calculation for federal income tax. It is for your records and you do not need to send it with your return. You might have already completed the HSA information when you filled out that section in TurboTax. If there is missing information:

The IRS may process the return without these numbers and send you the refund as expected from the return submitted.

Or they may flag it, make an adjustment and continue processing the return. In that case, they will send you a letter showing any change made.

In some cases they send you a letter asking for more information.

If they don't make any changes and there are additions, after you receive your refund you can amend, or correct, your return for the missing information. There is no additional charge to use Turbo Tax to amend your return.

Below is a Turbo Tax FAQ with step-by-step instructions to amend.
https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/amending/help/how-to-amend-change-or-correct-a-return-you-already-filed/00/25588

Tax year 2021 amend form should be available by Feb 24th and you can check that at this list of IRS forms and dates.
IRS Forms Available Estimates
