Our daughter filed her taxes and did not list that someone was claiming her as a dependent.

Her tax return has been accepted and she has a refund on the way. Meanwhile our taxes have been rejected and cannot be submitted until hers are amended.

When will we be able to amend her tax return so that we can submitt ours.

Yes she has to amend her return. But you don't have to wait to file your return since you have to print and mail it this year. You won't be able to efile even if she amends. Amending won't clear her ssn from the IRS.

The amended return won't be ready until later this month. Maybe 2/24.

It takes the IRS several months to process amended returns, so please file your own return by mail.

Form 1040X, Amended U.S. Individual Income Tax Return for tax year 2021 is estimated to be finalized and available in TurboTax on 03/17/2022

This was posted 2 weeks ago - Is 3/17/2022 still the date when the amended 1040X return for 2021 will be functioning in TurboTax? I filed for 2021 already and got a refund but received a LATE 1099B/DIV and have to amend my 2021 return. When can I use TurboTax to file the 1040X for 2021???

The availability date for the federal amended tax return, Form 1040-X, has changed to 02/24/2022 for e-filing and 02/25/2022 for printing.
