You will almost certainly not get your federal and state refunds at the same time. The federal and state tax returns are processed by two different governments. The federal is processed by the IRS and the state is processed by a department of the state government. They don't coordinate. If you happen to get them at the same time, it's just chance. But it's very unlikely.
