I got rejected 3 times for AIG, fixed it and now I'm getting rejected for prior year pin. Turbotax lets you just pick a random pin so why am I getting rejected for it? I even went back to prior year taxes and entered the pin on record and was still rejected.

I have read all the help articles available. If I can't e-file through Turbotax then why am I forced to pay for the service? I should have stuck with HR BLOCK, I have NEVER had this problem with them.

Along with your AGI, leave the PIN field empty.

The five-digit signature PIN Is a PIN you would have selected last year, not some random number.

Then, select a new five digit PIN for next year in the next step(s).

The new PIN will be available for next year if your return is ACCEPTED this year.

When I filed taxes last year, I did not have to do this, it was done automatically via HR Block. I located it on last years return and entered the pins after I had already tried choosing my own and getting rejected status again.

To anyone else having this issue - the fix for me was the IRS was not accepting any ip pin, not last years nor the one TurboTax has you create near the end of 'paper work'. I had to go through IRS website and request a new IP PIN. Entered it and they accepted my e-file, finally.

Your original post confused the self-select PIN and the IP PIN which are two different things.

You can't enter a six digit IP PIN in the five-digit self-select PIN field.

In your previous reply you stated to leave the agi and pin empty then enter a new pin for next year. Problem is, it wouldn't accept my e-file without last years pin. It would not accept a new pin for next year. I left those spaces empty like you said and was rejected again. Had to generate new IP PIN from IRS and use last years signature PIN that was randomly generated by HRB which thankfully I had on last years tax pdf. ( I do see where my comment looks like I confused the type of pins with each other, I did not, I was frustrated and unable to explain at the moment of typing that reply)
