No, you're not responsible for late filing while your submitted documents are in pending status. If you file electronically, the date and time in your time zone when your return is transmitted controls whether your return is filed timely. For additional information, see IRS Topic No. 301, When, How, and Where to File.

I e-file my employee's W2 on Jan 31, the deadline date for filing. After I e-filed on Turbo Tax, the status bar kept saying that my e-filing was waiting to be processed. I finally got an e-mail saying that my w2 was filed on Feb 1st. Am I responsible for late filing while my submitted document was being processed by Turbo Tax?
