Our Federal taxes were accepted on April 11th but as of April 20th they still have not withdrew the payment money from our checking account? I have been doing turbo tax for about 10 years and never had it take this long for the IRS to collect the money. How do I check or find out what is taking so long?

Me, too! This is exasperating! We set a date for the payment to be made, and gave them all the info. they needed. If they can't take the payment in a timely manner, maybe they don't need it! I had to set money aside to pay these taxes. I can't just have it sporadically removed from my account with no warning! I'll never do it this way again. Very frustrating!

The IRS is behind on both processing tax returns and payments. As long as you filed your return or extension on or before May 17, 2021 and you selected May 17, 2021 (or earlier) as your payment date, you won't get penalized for late payment.

Expect your money to be taken on May 17th.

Until then you have no choice but to budget as if that money is already gone.
