In the TT program FILE tab the option to direct DEBIT should be there for the federal balance due however some states may not allow it.

Thanks I found that later. I was stuck at the page where I was paying the TurboTax fee, and thought I was paying for my tax due as well. That page was not very clear, and the Terms and Conditions were grayed out. I wish there was a way to tell Turbotax how to improve their product.

Apparently you can not pay the TurboTax fee with from a checking account, but you can pay the tax due from a checking account. (Hopefully)

Review the screen below ... the 3 steps are clearly defined as to what happens and when ...

Step 1 of the FILE tab is for payment of the TT program only then the paying of a fed/state balance due happens in Step 2.

Thanks, I was apparently at step 1 and thought I was paying for everything at one time. I saw no way to direct debit on that screen. The link to Terms was grayed out, so there is no way to get help on that page.
