It is not simple to do that with TurboTax because yiu must purchase the 2019 CD/download software and install in a Mac or Windows computer. Then create an exact duplicate tax return as it was filed. Print that for filing to fool TurboTax to think you filed a paper return. Then you can amend and add the missing W-2, print and mail the 1040X and any other form that changed with a copy of the W-2.

It is usually easier and cheaper to go back to where it was filed since they already have the original return to start from.

My 2019 return needs to be amended for an additional W-2 that got left off of the return. This return was done by a tax preparer, and not by me using TurboTax. Can this return be amended using the TurboTax software, or do I need to correct this return on paper? If it does need to be corrected on paper and mailed what forms need to be adjusted to include the W-2?

The preparer should be willing to do this at a very reasonable cost.

Using TurboTax would be time-consuming and cost at leas $79.99. See File your 2019 taxes for 2019 pricing. If you decide to take that approach, follow @macuser_22 's instructions.
