You usually have three years from the date you filed your original tax return to file Form 1040X to claim a refund. You can file it within two years from the date you paid the tax, if that date is later.

The 1040X (amended return) forms are available in both TurboTax Online and CD/Download versions. Please see this TurboTax Help article for more information: How do I amend my 2020 return?

However, do NOT amend your return to remove the unemployment benefits, the IRS announced that they will automatically adjust your return and send any additional refund amount directly to you. However, some people may now be newly eligible for additional deductions and credits not already included on the original tax return. In these cases, you will likely want to amend your return to claim these additional dollars.

I have to amend it because I put that our children only lived with us for 1 month instead of 12. Do you know when it will be available?

It's not available on turbotax online.

There is a delay in being able to amend a tax return if you received unemployment even if the reason that you are amending is not to do with unemployment benefits.
