Ok, so I flies my taxes only for the rebate credit and I put my daughter as a dependent but I won’t receive the CTC because I don’t work. If one of my family memebers claim will they be able to get the CTC because I know they are working and I trust them to give me my money. So how will that work?

the new CTC has completely different rules than the previous one

The Covid-19 relief package would also make the benefit fully refundable. Under the new rules, taxpayers could receive the full $3,000 or $3,600 as a refund, depending on the child’s age.

Parents don’t have to be employed to get the new child tax credit. The new provisions allow households with no income to claim the credit.

do not suggest to a relative to improperly claim the credit. the tax laws have very severe penalties when improperly claimed.

So even if we not on my mother taxes this year I only filed for the rebate. Even tho we’re not on her taxes her accountant says she has to pay back money, so my taxes have nothing to do with her taxes right?
