I'm amending my return to add late documents and I have gotten to the stimulus question. When I filed my original return, I stated that I did not receive the first $1,200. The IRS has since given me that $1,200 in my return. How do I answer now?

I ask this because when I answer YES, I have received all my stimulus payments, the refund counter says that I owe the IRS $1,200. When I answer NO, and state once more that I didn't receive the $1,200, the counter goes back down to "$0 refund" where it belongs.

Should I answer as I did in my original filing, or do I give an updated answer? I'd like to be as truthful in my answers as possible, but this "double check" has me very confused. All I know is that I should NOT OWE the $1,200 stimulus back to the IRS even though the site is telling me I do.

Keep your answer- NO. TurboTax uses the information to calculate the payment, but because you are amending a return for something else, it is cancelling the payment you received.
