If you filed the 2020 federal tax return with incorrect amounts entered for the Recovery Rebate Credit, the IRS will adjust your tax return and remove the credit from the federal tax refund. You will not have to amend the 2020 tax return.

You do not need to amend. The IRS will catch this, and adjust accordingly.
